The 1st MSHS68 Hiking Society MisAdventure
Peak2, UP Los Banos When five brave and determined individuals
set their minds into doing something …nothing is going to
stop them. This is what best describe the hike / mountain climb
that the MSHS68 Hiking Society did in UP Los Banos last January
19, 2002.
Composed of Alice and her daughter, Jamie, Fe, Bodeng and Abet,
the fearless five completed the climb to PEAK2 a little over 8hours.
Starting from 7:45am, when they began from the foot of Mt.Makiling,
up to 5:00pm, when they packed up their gears into the car and proceeded
with their journey home.
So determined were the ladies to reached the top that Bodeng had
a hard time keeping up with their pace.

Pity Alice for she had just bought a brand new cross-training
shoes for this climb. She never realized that so much mud could
be accumulated in one climb. To her and her shoes…..Welcome
to the exciting world of Mountain Climbing.

My hats off to Fe who, despite the bumps and bruises from her countless
falls, just kept on standing up and flashing that same old familiar
smile of hers. What fighting spirit!
And who could resist the enthusiasm of Jamie who thinks that the
team as young as she is and therefore doesn't need the numerous
pitstop that they take. And who would believe that after the long
and hard climb that day…she would still look as fresh as when
she started.
Abet was in-charge of the provisions which he carried in his backpack
up PEAK2. Unfortunately, he had to carry the same back down the
mountain and to his home. Either the team was so excited with the
climb that ingesting the home-cooked adobo that he had prepared
was not in their priorities or they had inside information on how
he cooks.
